The Lesbianism project began as an idea about how my community of LGBTQ+ women and female aligned people feels in the context of certain stimuli. The space was directed entirely by the performers. I wanted the space to be a safe environment, made by lesbians for lesbians, to be seen by lesbians. They created a web around themselves, and began to interact with everyday objects, as well as creating their own artworks to help comfort themselves into the surroundings.

As a result of this happening I have created, it has become special to me and the performers only, as there is limited documentation of this occurrence. It has inspired some poetry that will be copied below. It has also instilled more confidence inside me that my fellow lesbians are very strong and will not go away.

Remember their names.

DOCUMENTING THE CENSORED

We aren't sure what we're identifying as,

rolling with it, all that good shit.

As a lesbo, a lezzer, a lesbian.

CROAK CROAK.

Number three, bodies.

Some people are nasty.

Do they like my body?

Is my personality flawed?

You cannot use our words.

Femmes and butches and femmes.

Straights do not give a shit.

Privilege of femmes,

Are butches DYKES?

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD QUEERS.

A CLAN OF UNDESIRABLES.

Straights saying QUEER.

Come on Daniel,

IT IS A DIRTY WORD,

OF DISGUST.

WATCH where you're going.

DYKE.

DYKE's eat between the fingers.

But Costa fixes homophobia.

The paranoia of being a DYKE.

DO YOU FANCY ME?

Predatory lesbians.

GROSS.

Is it a liberation?

Or a fight or flight?

IS IT JUST A WORD?

DO WE HAVE PROBLEMS?

WHY DO WE FIGHT?

Because

I do not want to brush my teeth after every kiss.

If I gave in to it, I could escape.

But here's this THING again.

It feels right,

No longer abnormal.

WRITTEN BY A DYKE.
